Happy Monday Surfers๐Ÿ„!

Hereโ€™s the thing: Even in this era of AI-driven buzz, you're still one of the early adopters. Believe it or not, 90% of companies are still on the AI sidelines, kind of like those folks back in the day, scratching their heads, wondering if that newfangled 'computer' gadget was really worth the fuss.

So hold onto that surfboard and keep riding the AI wave. We are the pioneers of this new era.

Hereโ€™s your two minutes of AI news for the day:

ONE PIECE OF NEWS

๐Ÿ“ˆHow to win the AI race as a business

You've probably given ChatGPT a spin for a quick email and walked away thinking, "Wow, AI's got game!"

There's no disputing the facts: with AI, work efficiency shoots up by 20-60%. But here's the thing: many folks are harnessing the AI power in secret, using their personal laptop or phone at work, because let's face it โ€“ companies are still navigating the AI waters. BCG found that half of the corporate giants are hesitant about AI, and an astounding 90% haven't mapped out their AI journey.

So how can companies turn this around?

AI is still a relatively new tool and there are no consultants that have special knowledge in how to make AI work for a specific company. The only way for an organization to benefit from AI is to get the help of its tech-savvy employees who are already using AI for work.

However employees donโ€™t like to share that they use AI for three reasons:

  1. They donโ€™t want to get in trouble for sidestepping company rules.

  2. Who'd want to share that theyโ€™re done working at 2 PM with their boss?

  3. The looming anxiety: "If I show how AI can do my job, will I still have one?"

If you're in a position of influence at your workplace, here's how you can channel the AI wave:

  1. Embrace and Share: From the intern to the CEO, everyone's trying to get a slice of the AI pie. Take the lead. Organize trainings, and encourage a culture of AI knowledge-sharing. i.e., internal prompt sharing platform.

  2. Address Concerns Head-On: Employees fearing a lay-off? Assure them: AI is here to assist, not replace. And thanks to AI taking care of the grunt work, perhaps thereโ€™s an opportunity for more interesting projects or even ending work early.

  3. Reward the Innovators: Spot someone leveraging AI in a genius way? Shine a spotlight on them. Maybe that means a cash bonus, a promotion, or even the right to work from home forever. Itโ€™s a gesture that says, โ€œWe value innovation.โ€ Employees might just come up with solutions that could transform a business entirely and thatโ€™s worth much more than any of these prizes in the long term.

In short, AI isn't just some tech fad. It's here, and it's reshaping the way we work. It's time to harness that potential.
