Copilot will act as your all-knowing assistant

Hello Surfers๐Ÿ„!

โ€œDonna! Walk with me! I have 45 seconds until my next meeting and I need to know what this meeting will even be about.โ€œ - If you ever dreamed of shouting that to an all knowing assistant as you swing open the glass door of your office, you will like Microsoftโ€™s new update. It might not respond to Donna, but it will read your emails and get you the most important details on any topic in a second.

Quick service announcement: Next week, "Riding the Wave" will take a break from arriving in your inbox as I sail the Adriatic Sea and pet dolphins, far away from civilization and 5G towers. But donโ€™t worry; I will be back on the 2nd of October.

Hereโ€™s your one minute of AI news for the day:

ONE PIECE OF NEWS

๐Ÿค–Microsoft redefines work

Next Tuesday, Microsoft will commence its grand AI venture with a free Windows 11 update that integrates Copilot. And by this fall, AI will further weave its way into the Microsoft ecosystem.

Starting November 1, Microsoftโ€™s AI magic will be available across all its products to business users, promising to redefine how we engage with office productivity tools. At the heart of Copilot is the freshly introduced AI assistant: Microsoft 365 Chat.

What makes Microsoft 365 Chat stand out?

This AI assistant will give you a quick overview of your unread emails and organise it based on urgency or importance.

Need a summary of the latest happenings on a marketing campaign? Microsoft 365 Chat will dive into your emails, calendar events, chats, and documents, and brief you in record time, complete with links to the relevant documents. Check out a quick demo here.

Bingโ€™s chatbot is also undergoing a transformation, aiming to offer a more individualised user experience. Did you recently chat about your dog? The next time you search for free-time activities, Bing might throw in some dog-friendly suggestions. If this sounds scary, don't worry, you can simply delete the conversations you donโ€™t want Bing to remember.

Just like ChatGPT, Bing chat will get DALL-E 3's image generation capabilities to produce stunning pictures with a click of a button.

As Microsoft embarks on this AI journey, the world watches closely, anticipating how these innovations might reshape our jobs in the years to come.

ONE MORE THING

Youtube is tapping into AI as well.

It will generate video topic ideas and outlines tailored to each creator, based on current audience trends.

Will it bring better videos to the platform or will it just push creators to make more of the same? Weโ€™ll find out soon.

AI Art of the day ๐ŸŽจ

AI-generated ads were spotted in Mumbai advertising a trip to Santorini. A couple months ago AI-made QRs were all the rage in the Stable Diffusion community, but seeing it in real life is an interesting early sign of AI-generated media taking over traditional advertising channels.
