🎮Games are getting an AI boost

Many games are about to offer a different experience to gamers with the help of machine learning and AI. Nvidia released a video two months ago that demos the near future of open conversations with game characters. Since then, users have started creating mods for open-world games like 'The Matrix Awakens' and 'GTAV' to chat with people on the streets. For now it’s still just a fun little addition, but it has the potential to change how games are designed.

Studios are also adding AI to their games. Gran Turismo 7, MotoGP and Forza Motorsport are all training models to make your competition in single player mode smarter and more human like. Forza’s AI drove the tracks 26,000 times, and developed about 85 different racing lines across each circuit as a result. They are pushing track limits in perfect conditions, and then driving more conservative lines when their tyres are cold, or when the conditions are rainy and they scramble for places just like humans would.

The jury is still out on whether we will like to be beaten to the finish line by AI racers or outsmarted by game characters, but it will definitely provide a new gaming experience with more unique and novel situations.
