Image generation is reshapig our world, AI is getting good in interpretation
Hello Surfersπ!
Today we take a look at the less discussed part of generative AI: image generation. It might not have such a profound effect on our life as ChatGPT yet, but this might change in the near future.
Hereβs your one minute of AI news:
ONE PIECE OF NEWS
π·How Gen AI reshapes our world - and the best free tools you must try
Image generators have been around for only a year, but in that time, we went from botched images to photo-realistic pictures. They have gotten so good that hot AI-generated influencers are popping up everywhere on Instagram.
Google and Photoshop added features that can replace parts of a picture, generating those mountain peaks that were covered in clouds on your hike. And AIs today only need a couple of pictures to put you in any fantasy world of your liking.
And if that's not enough, soon they will be able to turn our blurry old photos, taken with our flip phones, into crisp high-resolution images. And even fabricate memories, such as generating the family photo we forgot to take three years ago on mom's birthday.
We are not there yet, but here are three things possible with AI for free today:
LinkedIn Picture: By uploading a couple of your photos to Remini (which offers a 1-week free trial), you can generate professional studio-quality photographs to use on your CV or Bumble LinkedIn profile.
Restoring Old Photos: Remini, GFP-GAN, and MyHeritage's Photo Enhancer all offer free tools to restore those faded photos of grandma with the help of AI.
Baby Ultrasound: You can turn your baby's 3D ultrasound into a lifelike image here.
